Ruler Of The World Retires


Alan Greenspan stepped down yesterday after an incredible 18 years as chairman of the federal reserve. Greenspan, a former economics advisor to president Gerald Ford was appointed 'Fed head' by Ronald Reagan. Widely considered an economic genius Alan Greenspan does calculus for fun, is married to NBC correspondent Andrea Mitchell, and is an intuitive pragmatist who presided over the longest continues period of fiscal growth in American history. The Greenspan Fed was also the first to enginer a 'soft landing' approach to economic slowdown and is said to have helped keep the tech-bubble burst and post Sept 11th crash from being as bad as they might have been. Greenspan is succeeded in his position by Ben Bernanke, the former chairman has taken an advising position with a London firm.
