Well Never Find Another Voice Like Thine


Singer Lou Rawls passed away in a Los Angeles hospital Friday at the age of 72. Rawls who had been fighting both lung and brain cancer (though he gave up smoking 35 years ago), died at Cedars-Sini with his wife Nina at his side. Born in Chicago Illinois Rawls started touring with Sam Cooke's gospel group in his teens. While something of an ungrounded youth Lou Rawls life changed forever after a near-fatal car accident in 1958, since that time the preformer has tried to be a force for good in the world through his involvement in various charities, especially the United Negro collage Fund. Noted for his smooth and melodious voice Rawls has won three Grammys and sold over 40 million albums, among his best known songs are the 1976 hit "You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine" and "Lady Love".
